The Moon

If the Sun is who you are on the field, the Moon is what's going on underneath: mood, comfort, and what you need to feel settled.

Why some players have two Moon signs

The Moon is fast. It moves about 13° a day and changes sign every two to three days. Without a birth time we can't know exactly where it was, so we check the whole birth day. If the Moon crossed into a new sign that day, we show both, along with the time it crossed and how much of the day it spent in each.

Right now 766 of 1680 active players (46%) have a two-sign Moon day. That's about what you'd expect: the Moon spends a little under half of all days changing sign at some point.

Moon phase

The phase comes from the angle between the Sun and the Moon. We use eight: new, waxing crescent, first quarter, waxing gibbous, full, waning gibbous, last quarter, and waning crescent. Players born on a day the phase changed show both.

Game-day Moon

For every game we also chart the sky at kickoff: the Moon's sign and phase, whether Mercury is retrograde, and whether the Moon is void-of-course. That means it makes no more major aspects before leaving its sign. Traditionally it's a time when plans drift.
